Areca triandra

This fast growing, clustering, tropical beauty from India and Southeast Asia has a slim, ringed, grass green trunk; lush, dark green leaves; and bright red fruit. It is readily produced in the tropical or subtropical garden, or in the conservatory in cooler climates. A further feature is that the flowers are lemon scented. Seeds germinate readily and plants are easy and fast growing, surprisingly robust, and have a very tropical appearance. Delightful palm that produces attractive, grass green leaves atop slender trunks, ringed white. Easy care and a good palm for the conservatory. Bright light is fine, but should be indirect.
